In March of 2021, my good friend, Steve and I set out to explore Arizona for our first time together. Alexander Steve O’Neal is truly one of a kind. His heart for others is clear. He constantly puts his friends and family before himself and loves Jesus passionately.

The pictures you see above and below were taken at the top of a rather major highway connecting Flagstaff & Sedona. Highway 89A features stunning mountain views and an incredible switchback that leads up and down the side of a mountain, descending into a beautiful valley.

I cannot describe how alive this made me feel… There are few things in the world that make me feel like a little boy on Christmas morning. Being in the mountains is one of them…

On this particular day, we explored Cinder Hills OHV Park in Flagstaff. The park was massive and featured marked and unmarked off-roading trails.

The cell phone signal booster came in very useful when going out of range from cell towers.

I cannot help but get a jumping off the truck shot. Haha

This OHV park was seriously amazing. Part of me was nervous because I still haven’t pulled the trigger on any serious recovery equipment yet (like a winch) and Steve and I were out there all by ourselves.

I mean seriously. The mountains in Arizona are stunning.

We opted not to try to drive up this hill. So we hiked instead. In general, I am overly cautious with my truck. Not only do I try to minimize personal risk of danger, I truly do not want to pay for extensive truck repairs as a result of recklessness.

Obviously we gotta air up to get to our campsite!

After taking Hwy 89A south from Flagstaff to Sedona, we found a suitable campsite in the Coconino National Forest, NW of Sedona.

On this particular night, I found the time to properly mount my Garmin inReach Mini to the dashboard. This was yet another essential tool that I invested in before taking this trip because I knew we would be the only vehicle traveling for the duration of our adventure.
